Mulberry Sesquicentennial Festival
Miss Mulberry Pageant
2008

This pageant is open to anyone within the required age brackets listed below who lives in Mulberry, participates in a Mulberry community organization, or regularly attends church in Mulberry.

The Miss Mulberry pageant will be held at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community Room at 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 31. Contestants are asked to arrive at 4:00 pm in pageant attire. Instructions for the evening will be given at this time, so please arrive on time. All contestants will share a prep room and only one person may accompany a contestant in the prep room.

Miss Mulberry will be crowned at the end of the evening. Miss Mulberry and runners-up will be required to attend the pageants taking place the following day.

The Little Miss/Mr. Mulberry and Jr. Miss Mulberry pageants will be held at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community Room at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 1. All participants should arrive at 1:30 pm. Boys and Girls participating in the Little Miss and Little Mr. pageants will be on stage first. After being introduced, they will be dismissed to their parents in the audience.
The Jr. Miss Mulberry contestants will then take the stage. Once each has appeared on stage, they will return to the stage as a group for the results. At this time, the winners of the Little Miss Mulberry and Little Mr. Mulberry pageant will be announced and they will be welcomed on stage. Finally, Jr. Miss Mulberry will be announced.

Winners and runners-up from each pageant will be asked to stay after the ceremony on Sunday for photo opportunities.

Little Miss Mulberry & Little Mr. Mulberry BOYS & GIRLS AGES: 5 - 9

Little Miss Mulberry and Little Mr. Mulberry contestants are encouraged to dress in their Sunday best with a natural appearance and will be required to appear on stage without an escort. They will be asked their name, age, and grade level for the upcoming school year.


Jr. Miss Mulberry GIRLS AGES: 10 - 14

Jr. Miss Mulberry contestants are encouraged to dress in their Sunday best and will be required to appear on stage without an escort. They will be asked to introduce themselves by name and age and will be asked one additional question intended to learn something about them and to demonstrate their personality.

Sample Questions:
What is your favorite hobby?
What is your favorite book or movie?


Miss Mulberry GIRLS AGES: 15 - 19

Miss Mulberry contestants will participate in an on-stage interview including two or three questions intended to learn more about the candidate and her personality. Street clothes will be worn during the interview portion of the evening. The contestants will then change in to pageant attire of choice (dress or gown recommended, but not required) to appear on stage a second time. The evening will conclude with the announcement of Miss Mulberry, a first runner-up and a second runner-up.

Our meeting place and day has changed for The Sesquicentennial Committee. We now meet the last Tuesday of the month, 7:00pm at the Trinity Church of Mulberry.
