| No Dial Tone | Most often this is caused by a mis-behaving phone. Try unplugging all of your phones from the electric outlet. Plug one back in. Do you have dial tone? Try another in a different jack. Do you have dial tone at that jack? If the answer is no to both, call and report it. If all of your phones work normally after you have plugged them back in, it was one of the phones. Some cordless/elctronic phones require 'rebooting/unplugging' occationally. That is not uncommon. |
| Power is out No Dial Tone | After a storm or a power outage, we always get a few calls that the customer had no phone service during the power outage. When questioned, we find out that they only have electronic type phones, like cordless phones, that require power to operate. It is a good idea that you have at least 1 traditional/standard lined phone in your home for telephone service without power. A standard corded telephone will continue to operate even without power. |
| I hear static | Call the office and report the problem. |
| I can't call a certain number | Check the number and verify you are dialing it correctly. Is it a long distance number you are trying to dial local? Do you get a recording? Common recordings are the number has been disconnected and no longer in service, the number can't be completed as you have dialed it, and your call is being block because you have caller id suppression on your line. |
